Who We Are

Circa 2002, fresh out of a Wisconsin high school, I was assigned to Tinker AFB while on active duty in the Air Force (AWACS) and would end up serving all 22 years at Tinker and retiring in 2024.  As the years went by, I slowly acquired a few properties to lease out, hoping to learn about real estate, make my mistakes early, and maybe have a nest-egg of equity a few decades down the road.  I purchased a historic quadplex and triplex near the Paseo arts district.  As I planed to, I made many mistakes and also learned a lot about all facets of land-lording, property maintenance, and renovations.  One problem that was difficult to overcome in my 100 year old brick quadplex, was the HVAC system which comprised in each of the 4 units of a vent-free gas heater, space heaters, and window AC units to take care of the heating and cooling needs.  The biggest issue with attempting to convert to a “central heat & air” system was the low ceilings that didn’t readily present a good plan for interior ductwork, not to mention the cost of around $25,000 per unit that was quoted by multiple HVAC professionals in the area to upgrade.

As the quickly evolving technology and popularity in the USA around mini-splits gained traction, I realized that mini-split units providing heating and cooling in each of my units was clearly the best answer because of the elegant design of interior heads with line-sets that are run to the exterior compressor (instead of interior venting which I had no room for), was the best answer.   Around 2020 I obtained multiple quotes to outfit a single, 600 sq/ft unit with a mini-split, and I was aghast that the quotes again came in around $20,000/unit, an expense I simply could not afford.

Thus began my quest into becoming knowledgeable, trained, and competent to install my own mini-splits, which I have completed on all 7 of my historic units, all for 1/3rd to half the price of those original quotes by the big HVAC companies.  My tenants have all individually praised and appreciated the dramatic upgrades of comfort in each of the extreme Oklahoma seasons, while simultaneously freeing up windows that were previously occupied by noisy and unsightly window AC units, and floor space that was occupied by rudimentary space heaters.  I realized that I couldn’t be alone in my need for upgraded mini-split systems, and that surely others could benefit from my specializing in such, delivering prices that I don’t think the all-purpose HVAC contractors in the OKC area can compete with.

At a price that I strive to make well below average market cost, I now offer mini-split installation with up to 5 interior zones “heads” or “air handler’s” running from a single exterior condenser.  Many options exist for line-set covers on the exterior of your structure as well as optimizing size and number of zones for a given project.  The easiest way to get started is with a conversation via email or phone and often a visit to the subject home, garage, workshop, etc. for a look at the specifics.  Please contact Paul via email or text/phone to get an estimate or further information.
